Water Treatment Systems - Microfiltration

Microfiltration is defined to pore sizes from 0,1 to 10 micron. This means that microfiltration removes microorganisms and bacteria. Microfiltration even removes some viruses as the viruses attach themselves to biofilm.

LiqTech has more than 16 years of experience in the filtration industry, and is one of the pioneers with our revolutionary silicon carbide membranes. LiqTech offers a number of standard MF units for the swimming pool industry with a pore size of 1 or 3 micron. Compared to traditional sand filters that typically operates at approx. 10 micron these systems offer a lot of advantages:

  • Removal of bacteria
  • Removal of microorganisms like Cryptosporidium
  • Removal of smaller organic- and inorganic particles
  • Improved Turbidity

Water Treatment Systems - Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration is defined to pore sizes from 0,001 to 0,1 micron. This means that ultrafiltration removes microorganisms, bacteria and viruses depending on the pore size.

LiqTech offers a standard ultrafiltration units which, in different configuration modes, are ideal to treat industrial wastewater and as pre-treatment for:

  • Removal of microorganisms
  • Removal of bacteria and viruses
  • Removal of smaller organic- and inorganic particles
  • Removal of oil and heavy metals

Typical applications for ultrafiltration is:

  • Removal of heavy metals in e.g mining operations
  • Cleaning of process water in wet condensate scrubber loops (marine & land based systems)
  • Pre-filtration for RO (reverse osmosis) in e.g drinking water applications
  • Feed water treatment for land based fish farms
